The Word on the Wrap

Friday is going to be the final day of shooting. I believe the wrap party is going to happen this Friday as well. Details are in the air.

I hear one of our people has come down with Pneumonia. Our UPM was sicker than a dog at the beginning of the shoot (I teased the set caught the swine – but it was just a bad cold) and all the crew members got ferouciously ill. Since then, the health of the crew and cast has wavered. Everyone is pulling through great, but it really shows what uncontrolled  issues can do. I think we have had three hospital trips now. One -I think it was Ron Ridenour who tore his ACL on the first or second day of shooting. Two – Brittany Murphy was ill. Three – Joseph Mungra has Pneumonia. Well we hope you ALL are better in time for the wrap party.

5/28/09 Production Day 23

Today crew call began at 9AM; however one of the stars – Brittany Murphy – was feeling under the weather. With a slight reschedule of scenes to shoot, the crew was able to salvage the morning and luckily for everyone, Brittany was able to make it.

They shot at 4255 Spring Blvd in Eugene, Oregon – where they will be shooting through the last day of production. Check out the Street View courtesy of Google maps –

This house is the Webb residence. Today they shot scenes 37, 76 and 77 which include conflicts between Susan and Bill. Brittany Murphy and James Patrick Stuart were the two actors scheduled for the day.

Props include a cordless phone, Bill police gak, a bottle of sedatives a wine glass and a towl. In one scene Susan is found in a tub passed out.

SOMETHING WICKED: Press Release

(May 28, 2009) Brittany Murphy has joined the cast of the thriller SOMETHING WICKED. Joe Colleran is writing and producing for Merchant Films with Darin Scott (“Menace II Society”) set to direct. Scott Chambers, Jai Khanna and Dan Giustina will serve as Executive Producers. Cast includes Shantel VanSanten (“Final Destination: Death Trip”), John Robinson (“Transformers”), James Patrick Stuart (“90210”) and Julian Morris (“Sorority Row”). Shooting is now underway in Eugene, Oregon in association with Chambers Productions.

Logline: As a young couple embark upon their wedding plans, gruesome secrets from their past collide with sinister forces of the present to ensure these newlyweds do not live “happily-ever-after”. ‘Something Wicked’ is a bone chilling noir thriller, set against the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

Follow a Film is a social marketing campaign developed to act as a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the independent film production of Merchant Films.

Merchant Films, in collaboration with Chambers Productions, is on it’s second independent film production titled “Something Wicked,” currently filming in Eugene, Oregon. Something Wicked starts Brittany Murphy, Shantel VanSanten, John Robinson, James Patrick Stuart and Julian Morris, and is directed by Darin Scott.

The first follow was “Arcadia Lost”, filmed in Greece. Arcadia Lost start Nick Nolte, Haley Bennett and Carter Jenkins, and is directed by Phedon Papamichael.
